Energy-Boost Smoothie

Is your battery running low? This smoothie may just be the boost you need. Try it for breakfast for some quick and convenient fuel, or later in the day to fire up your afternoon engine. It’s filled with flaxseeds that boost your omega-3s, spinach to fill you with fiber, and almond butter to provide protein and good fats to keep your engine running.

 

Ingredients 

  • 3-6 strawberries, frozen
  • 1⁄2 cup spinach, frozen
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp flax seeds
  • 2 tbsp almond butter
  • 1⁄4 cup coconut or almond yogurt 
  • 1⁄4 - 1⁄2 cup nut milk
  • Ice
  • Optional: honey

Prep 

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in the blender.
  2. Add more nut milk as needed to liquefy; add more ice as needed to thicken. 
  3. Optionally, add a small amount of honey to sweeten.
  4. Blend on high until smooth.
